Steps to Apply for the CCBA™ Certification Exam

Exam Application Process:

Step 1 – Complete Certification Prerequisites

All International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) certifications have prerequisites before you are eligible to apply for the certification. You may find below the credentials required for the CCBA™ exam.

CCBA™ Certification Exam Eligibility Requirements:

1. Business Analysis Work Experience for a minimum of 3,750 hours in the last 7 years
2. Professional Development: Minimum of 21 hours in the last 4 years
3. Two (2) Professional References
4. Agreement with the CCBA™ Code of Conduct

Step 2 – Complete Online Application

As it is an online application, you will need to register for an IIBA account at their website https://portal.iiba.org/user/login. This will mostly need to fill out your educational background and professional development information.

We find it best for you to prepare your valid documents (e.g. diploma, certificates, etc.) as ready reference when you are filling out the online application form. Please note that the name on your IIBA profile MUST match the name on your identification.

Step 3 – Submission & Payment

Once your application has been submitted, pay the application fee of $125. The fee is not refundable.

Step 4 – Approval

Once payment has been received, an email is sent to you indicating that you have been “approved”, or “approved pending audit”. If your email indicates an “approved pending audit” status, this means your application will be audited within ONE month.

We will also extend you our assistance in completing the audit process if you are chosen for the random audit.

If your application is approved, you have a maximum of one (1) year from the date of the application approval email to pass the exam. It is your responsibility to ensure the application does not lapse. You may request for an application extension only if you have an extenuating circumstance according to IIBA.

Exam Registration Process:

Step 2 – Schedule your exam

Once payment has been received by IIBA, payment confirmation message will be sent to you by email within one business day. If you have not received this, IIBA advises to check your email junk/spam folder before contacting certification@iiba.org.

In the same confirmation email, note your Eligibility ID and go to the Prometric website to schedule a location and date for your exam.

Note: Re-taking of the CCBA exam is allowed for a maximum of two (2) times for one (1) application. For each re-take, exam fee must be paid again.
